Dr Faryal Zehra
Dr. Faryal Zehra is an accomplished researcher and community health leader with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, academic research, and global community service. Her deep interest in maternal health led her to join Women’s Health Road as an Honorary Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Research Fellow, where she has contributed significantly to advancing research and clinical practice in women's health.
Dr. Zehra is dedicated to finding innovative solutions that make healthcare systems more accessible and inclusive. Her work as a Paramedic Practitioner focuses on incorporating hybrid and community-led models of care tailored to the needs of underserved populations. She has collaborated with Women’s Health Road, Bleed Better, multiple hospitals and universities to support global women’s health outcomes, with an emphasis on maternal and child health, preventive care, and public health in underrepresented populations.
A central theme of Dr. Zehra’s career is her dedication to community-based health initiatives, especially for rural and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Having worked extensively across four continents, she brings a global perspective to healthcare delivery and public engagement.
As the Founder & CEO of Little Helpers on the Run and SAZ Education, Dr. Zehra has led over 6,000 projects globally, in collaboration with 1,500+ organisations and departments. These initiatives span preventive healthcare, health literacy, youth mentorship, and education, all designed to foster sustainable community empowerment. She has personally mentored and supervised thousands of students, professionals, and volunteers—offering them placements, workplace hours, and hands-on experience in meaningful community roles.
Dr. Zehra’s holistic, community-driven approach to health ensures that solutions are not only evidence-based but also culturally sensitive and locally owned. Her leadership continues to bridge the gap between healthcare and community development, empower the next generation of healthcare professionals, and enhance youth-focused programs addressing the most pressing health and social issues.
